St. Mark's is a growing mid-sized congregation, seeking to be true to Christ's command that we love one another.  We are seeking to maintain a family caring atmosphere.  We seek to meet the needs of a variety of people and of their lives.  Therefore, we enjoy a variety of worship styles.  We have added a Prayer Garden to the south of the Church.

Two services every Sunday at 8:15 AM and 10:30 AM.
Communion on the first and third Sundays at both services unless otherwise stated.

The first Sunday tends to be traditional with Holy Communion. 

The second Sunday tends to be a blended service with the addition of the St.Mark-e-teers (see below) at both services.  In addition, during the Sunday School year, the Sunday School singers frequently sing at the 10:30 service.

The third Sunday is a blended service with Communion being the Pilgrim style, with prayer partners waiting at the communion altar to assist with any Prayers of Petition or for Health.  The choir usually sings at both services.

The fourth Sunday is usually a contemporary worship service led by our own The 100 Voices (Joyful Noise renamed).

The fifth Sunday, when there is one, is traditional and may be altered during holidays.

Each Sunday, fellowship with refreshments is provided following each service in the adjacent Fellowship Hall.

Monday evening at the Oasis:

Beginning January 9th the fresh approach to evening Church and Worship begins again after the holiday season..

Children's Sunday School:  9:20 AM.  September through May.

Confirmation Class:  The class is Sunday morning at 9:15 AM.

Adult Class:  The class is Sunday morning at 9:15 AM. Everyone is invited to attend Pastor's Class.

The 100 Voices:  Provides the music for the 4th Sunday each month.

St.Mark-e-teers: Our popular Puppet Ministry is at both services on a varying schedule. Skits are of varying lengths and of different topics.  Come join us and if you wish you can become a member of the group and help with the presentations.

Choir:  Led by Cal Peacock with practice at 7:30 PM on Wednesday nights.  Practice does not meet in the summer but resumes in September.

If you are interested in joining the choir, contact Cal Peacock in Valley or leave a message at the church office for him to get in contact with you.

Circles for the Ladies of the Church: There are four fellowship groups:  Faith Circle meets the first Tuesday of the month at 1:00PM. Peace Circle meets the first Tuesday of the month at 7:00 PM. Joy Circle meets the first Sunday of the month at 9:15 AM. Friendship Circle meets the first Monday of the month at 7:00 PM. These are open to any lady interested and any age. The schedule during the summer may vary.

Lutheran Men in Mission:  Meets at 6:30 PM the third Monday of each month from September through May.  You do not need to be a member of St. Mark's  to attend. The Men in Mission does not usually meet during  the summer except when special meetings are needed.

The church office manager, Jan, is here from 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM, Monday through Thursday.

St. Mark's has a nursery to watch your children during the 10:30 AM service. NO attendants during the summer.

PRAYER GARDEN

You should see it now.  The bricks are in place and planting has been completed as well as the cross and arch.  In the photo above, you can see the entrance arch way on the left end of the photo.  Donations paid for the total project.

YOU CAN STILL PURCHASE BRICKS TO BE ADDED TO THE GARDEN, CHECK THE CHURCH BULLETIN OR CALL GENE GRIFFIN FOR THE APRIL TIMES.

Adult Bible Study, God Instructs the People of God, for this quarter (June, July and August) invites us to remember not only Israel's call to be obedient, faithful people, but also our own calls to do the same.  The study shares stories of conquest and settlement in Joshua and Judges, and the little book of Ruth the endearing story of devotion. 

The new study began June 5 and  continuing every Sunday thereafter until August 28, at 9:15 a.m. in the Conference Room.  Please join us for any or all of the sessions that your schedule permits.    Bev Griffin, leader
