Acupuncture appears to be highly effective for the treating all types of pain, not simply post-surgical pain. In a study released in the Archives of Internal Medication in 2008, 1,162 adults with chronic-lower back discomfort were randomly designated to be treated either with traditional acupuncture, sham acupuncture , or the typical Western treatment of medicines coupled with exercise. The researchers found that only 27 % of individuals in the Western treatment group reported at least a 33 % reduction in pain and a noticable difference in their ability to function, weighed against 44 % of the sham acupuncture participants and 48 % of the original acupuncture individuals.Baumannii infection study Ashraf Ibrahim, Ph.D., principal investigator at LA BioMed who specializes in infectious diseases, was recently honored by the American Culture for Microbiology and the ICAAC System Committee in the area of Therapy and Avoidance of Microbial Disease.
